Governor Laura Kelly Signs Four Bipartisan Bills
*TOPEKA* – Governor Laura Kelly signed four bipartisan bills today. Many of these bills make technical changes and update statutes at the request of affected communities.
“I am pleased that the Legislature has reviewed and passed bipartisan legislation that betters the lives of Kansans,” *Governor Laura Kelly said*.
Governor Kelly signed the following bills:
*House Bill 2092* [ [link removed] ] - Reapportions the districts of certain members of the Washburn University Board of Regents from state senate districts to groupings of city council districts.
*Senate Bill 24* [ [link removed] ] – Makes technical changes to ensure statutory language is aligned with industry standards regarding insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorder.
*House Bill 2262* [ [link removed] ] – Expands workforce and training opportunities for embalmers by amending educational requirements, allowing six, rather than twelve, months of an apprenticeship to be completed before an individual attends mortuary science school.
*House Bill 2197* [ [link removed] ] – Makes technical changes to the First-time Home Buyer Savings Account program to ensure that when someone passes away, their beneficiary receives the account balance, and allows the State Treasurer’s Office to market the program.
