Team, no doubt you’re exasperated with all the emails in your inbox from campaigns asking for your support. The election cycle just seems like it starts earlier and earlier.

So here’s the deal: we’re not going to pile on more alarmist talking points or fundraising gimmicks. (No “ALL IS LOST IF YOU DON’T DONATE” or “EXPIRING 3X MATCH!!” emails here.) Instead, we’re going to be straightforward about why hitting our fundraising goals, even this far out from the next election, is really important — and we hope that at the end, we’ll have convinced you to chip in a few dollars if you’re able.

In the last election, Brittany faced a barrage of misleading right-wing attacks, and we spent most of what we had fighting back against them. So we need to be ready to deal with the exact same negativity next year. And quite honestly, that means raising money NOW to run TV ads and get organizers out meeting with voters one on one.

After tonight’s deadline, our first-quarter fundraising will be made public for anyone to see and scrutinize. If we have a strong showing, it can make Republicans think twice about targeting Brittany. But if we underperform our benchmarks, it will only incentivize more attacks and more negativity from Kevin McCarthy and his allies.

So, no, we aren’t going to tell you that if you don’t chip in $5, all hope is lost. BUT we will be candid that if you’re able to donate a few bucks, it makes our job defending this seat and keeping Colorado blue easier. It improves Brittany’s odds of being able to serve Colorado for years to come, and it will help power our efforts to retake the House majority.
