Team: Today not only marks the end of the first quarter of 2023, it also brings with it the end date for temporary expanded Medicaid coverage that was granted as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Today millions of Americans will lose access to expanded Medicaid coverage because their state officials have refused to enact the more extensive coverage rolled out via the Affordable Care Act (ACA). When the ACA was signed into law, 24 states with extremist state officials refused to roll out the expanded coverage to their citizens.
We knew just how serious their inaction was, so since then we’ve worked in 7 different states alongside voters to pass Medicaid expansion and grant them the health care they badly need. And in part thanks to our work, now 38 states and D.C. have expanded Medicaid coverage.
But in those 12 remaining states that continue to refuse, there are millions of people who are being denied coverage that would be eligible — and now their temporary coverage is running out.
Extremist officials are playing political games with peoples lives and medical care, and we won’t stand for it. We’re fighting to close the coverage gap in the 12 states that remain.
Helping us reach our $10,000 End-of-Quarter goal plays a critical part in having the funds necessary to take on more ballot measure campaigns like our fights to expand Medicaid. If you’re with us in the fight to close the Medicaid coverage gap, will you rush a donation before tonight’s deadline, team? [[link removed]]
