In last year’s state legislative cycle alone, 23 states and DC signed 70 gun safety bills into law, building on the progress we’ve made since Parkland.

So far this year, the newly elected leaders in Virginia are acting in that same spirit. They have countered intimidation with courage and advanced a number of bills, including universal background checks and an extreme risk law that will save lives.

And that’s just the beginning — there are even more gun safety bills to come in states across the country.
