I hope you and your family had a restful Norooz with those near and dear to you. For me, it was nice taking some time off to be with those who matter most to me.
As you know, today marks the end of March. But more importantly, it marks the end of the first quarter of the year. When we set fundraising goals we break them down by month and quarter and as of the writing of this email, we're just $8,764 shy from where we need to be for the quarter. Today at midnight we close our books and I'm asking you to make a tax-free contribution [[link removed]] to help us finish strong.
With the strength of our chapters and membership, we were able to organize proclamations in support of the Iranian people during Norooz in cities and states across the country. We organized against hateful legislation in Texas that would target our community. We met with dozens of leaders in Congress and in the administration and helped pass a repeal of the 2002 Iraq war authorization in the Senate and a resolution in solidarity with Iranians in the House. All of this was just in the first quarter!
Our work must continue — and grow — at this critical time.
That's why we need your help. With your support we can grow our chapter program and advocacy efforts. We can refute false and dangerous claims about our organization — what we stand for and who we work for (if there's any doubt we work for you, our members!). This work takes resources.
