This Week: At A Glance




Monday, the House unanimously passed legislation from Rep. Young Kim (CA-40)
to prevent China from taking advantage of special diplomatic statuses. The bill
stops China from being considered a developing country, a designation that
allows them to receive special economic benefits in international treaties.



With the world's second largest economy, China is clearly taking advantage of
the system.

Tuesday, Rep Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) led local officials from her hometown
of Happy Valley around the U.S. Capitol. Lori pointed out that not too long
ago, when she was mayor of Happy Valley, she was the one on the tour!

Wednesday, Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05) joined Bloomberg at the Engage For
Women Summit to chat about her work on paid family leave.









Thursday, the House passed H.R. 1 to lower energy bills and spur U.S. energy
production. The bill, which passed with a bipartisan majority, was put together
byHouse Energy and Commerce Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05).
