We have a huge deadline ahead of us. We are just hours away from the midnight campaign finance filing deadline, and we are $4,511.56 away from our fundraising goal for the campaign. In the Virginia Senate, I've been fighting hard to make our Commonwealth a better place to live, work, and thrive. But I can't do it alone – I need your help to hit our goal.
The last year has been difficult for all of us. The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn 50 years of settled law and put women’s rights in peril in our nation was traumatic, and it cleared the way for horrific legislation in states all across the country. We have to seize the moment and signal to the rest of the country that Virginia will not be one of those states that imperils the lives of women by letting politicians make necessary medical decisions.
Gov. Youngkin has pledged to put a candidate in every legislative race across Virginia so that next session he can pass horrific bills similar to ones I blocked last month. With today’s critical end-of-quarter deadline looming, this is our moment to show that we’re ready to defeat his efforts to take the Senate, and that I’ll be there next session ready to protect Virginians from bills that would strip away our rights.
