House Republicans passed their signature energy package yesterday which will deliver lower emissions, lower costs, and more energy independence.

2. NEW POLLING: Clean energy solutions attract Independents and Republicans

In a new survey done by Echelon Insights for ClearPath Action

Plug in: 80% of voters believe that clean energy is an issue that Republicans in Congress should care about, according to a nationwide survey.

86% of voters believe it is possible for the U.S. to develop cleaner energy sources that can also provide more affordable energy.

Majorities of Republicans and Independents and a plurality of Democrats say innovation — not regulation — is the best way to fight climate change.

Voters, and Republicans in particular, believe advanced nuclear power and permitting reform could have a major impact on climate change.

What’s clear: “This data shows that Republican lawmakers can winover swing voters while offering a clean energy message that is appealing to their base conservatives,” said Luke Bolar, Chief External Affairs Officer at ClearPath Action.

4. Why the GE Hitachi / TVA partnership is a big deal

​​​​​​



If there was any doubt, the future of small modular reactors is becoming more clear in light of the deal last week between the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and two other partners.

Combined, the partners are committing $400 million to standardize GEH’s advanced nuclear design for deployment in Canada, Poland and the U.S.

Ontario Power Generation and Synthos Green Energy, of Poland, joined TVA and GE Hitachi to invest in the BWRX-300 small modular reactor design.

What’s clear: America’s advanced nuclear innovations can promote energy security
