A home to all
In honour of International Forests Day last week, we released new designs which show our appreciation for our global forests; homes to millions of people, biodiversity hotspots and the world's “air conditioning system”. Choose your favourite and get it this weekend with free postage.
Inspired by Brazilian Indigenous leader Sônia Guajajara (now Minister of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil) and her message to Tesco’s HQ in Hertfordshire a few years ago, we created “Forests Not Fires”. [1] She asked, “Do you know the impact your business is causing for the Indigenous People and the environment here in Brazil? The Amazon is burning, the environment is at risk. We need to think about the impact meat consumption has on Indigenous territories and across humanity.” [2]
John, did you know that Indigenous Peoples comprise less than 5% of the world’s population and yet protect 80% of the world’s biodiversity? We created a fingerprint tree design, to celebrate the strength and unwavering dedication Indigenous Peoples have for their homes and environment.
Forests are home to around 80% of the world’s land biodiversity working together in complex ecosystems. We created a new rainforest design with one thing in mind - the buzz of forest sounds - the howl of monkeys, roar of jaguars, rustle of crickets… We cannot let this fall silent.
Stirred by the ongoing devastating deforestation, we’re also breathing new life into this vital conversation of saving our forests, with our forest tree ring design.
Forests are vital in combating climate change, but we’re losing them at an alarming rate. We’ve decided to bring back an eye-catching tiger design first used in 2015 when India’s Ministry of Home Affairs publicly moved against Greenpeace India’s campaigning on the environment. [3] Our work across the world continues, and we invite you to join us.
