We can’t allow this to continue.
Dear Friend,
Right now, the New York Assembly is considering legislation that would require state prisons to let male offenders reside in women’s facilities REGARDLESS of biological sex.
No, this isn’t an Onion story. This is reality.
New York’s Assembly Bill A709 would automatically place inmates in the facility that corresponds with their “self-attested gender identity.” Even worse, it would forbid correctional institutions from requesting documentation of “gender identity” and would allow offenders to move between opposite-sex prisons at will without taking any action to medically transition.
No documentation necessary — any man can claim to identify as a woman and transfer into women-only prisons and cells.

The risks to incarcerated women posed by policies like these are obvious. In other states, allowing intact male offenders to reside in women’s prisons has resulted in pregnancies and sexual assaults of female inmates. For example, in California, an “inmate with a penis” sexually assaulted a female inmate in a women’s prison. In New Jersey, two female prisoners became pregnant by a male inmate housed in the women’s prison.
We cannot allow this to continue. It’s anti-woman, and it’s dangerous.
Our policy makers must reject radical proposals to erase women, especially those that endanger women in vulnerable positions.
The Women's Bill of Rights is a simple declaration that biological sex matters. By defining basic terms, such as “woman,” “female,” and “mother,” the Women’s Bill of Rights protects the integrity of single-sex spaces and fortifies current laws against sex discrimination.
