ICYMI: Groundwork has not wasted a second in the first three months of 2023, providing on-the-ground and wrap-around support to our grantees. Take a look and see what we’ve done so far:

☑️ Worked with the Black Voter Impact Initiative out of West Virginia to develop the logo and digital collateral for their history-making Black Policy Day.

☑️ Brainstormed narrative and communications strategy with Oklahoma Parent Legislative Action Committee (OKPLAC) as they prepared for an especially contentious legislative session.

☑️ Provided coaching to four grantee partners on outreach strategies and ways to increase member engagement.

☑️ Connected grantees with other national funding organizations to increase the resources coming into our focus states.

☑️ Hosted monthly state-based grantee calls where we don't ask for reports or metrics — but focus on deepening our relationships with each other, building trust, and holding space to talk through the toughest stuff.

☑️ Brought in phenomenal partner organizations to host special trainings for our grantee cohort on everything from legal strategy to movement mapping and digital organizing strategies.

☑️ Ran an active grantee listserv where grantees can share news, ask for help, or just say hello to each other!

Now we are preparing to expand our wrap-around support and coaching services for partners but only if you reaffirm your support – make your 2023 donation now.

As Program Manager here at Groundwork, I have seen firsthand how the work our grantees do helps build power and change the narrative in places that have been historically overlooked, disenfranchised, and ignored by most national progressives. This year, we are planning to expand the tactical and financial resources we provide our grantees to grow our wrap-around support.

I know you are invested in Groundwork’s mission and theory of change. Help make the difference for local advocates and organizations by donating before tomorrow’s FEC quarterly deadline.

Founded by Joe Kennedy III, Groundwork Project invests in year-round, local community organizing in places Democrats have gotten used to writing off. With a focus on Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains, we support local advocates and activists working to build durable political infrastructure and secure power for those historically excluded.
