The Spring Membership & Redistribution Pledge Drive (April 15-May 31) is coming!
In this 6 week period, staff and members work hard to collectively rededicate to RG as a multiracial membership organization and a political home. This is a time to also celebrate the work we all do to not only sustain our organization but also the broader liberation movement of wealth return that absolutely must and will win. The Spring drive is especially important because this year we're mobilizing members to renew dues by end of May! Stay tuned for more on this, and in the meantime, sign RG's Redistribution Pledge [[link removed]] and get in member [[link removed]] dues by May 31!
MEMBER-LED CAMPAIGN: FUND ABORTION NOW UPDATE
Fund Abortion Now! is a member-led Resource Generation campaign working to move $2 million to the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) and local abortion funds over three years. We are excited to announce that NNAF’s annual Fund-A-Thon is here—an annual season of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events where community members come together to raise money for abortion funds here [[link removed]] .
We encourage you to identify your local abortion fund on the website, join a fundraising team, start your own team, or donate to a team. Whatever amount you give, don’t forget to let us know via the Fund Abortion Now Pledge form [tinyurl.com/FANPledgeForm] , so that we can see how much RGers have collectively moved to this powerful work
CHAPTER UPDATES
Praxis members Gabby and Amber post colorful stickie notes on a flipchart paper during their last praxis session. [[link removed]] Portland Chapter
The Portland Chapter just had our third community call with members in Seattle and all across the PNW! This time, we did a training on 1-1s and made plans to have 1-1s with those new to RG before next month's meeting. We're excited to be re-engaging old members and bringing in some new faces too. And, we're wrapping up a fantastic praxis session (see the pic for a peek at the great working session we had on collective action, brainstorming vision, anchors, challenges, and supports for our chapter’s re-emergence!)
Minnesota Chapter
We had our annual retreat in February, and solidified our two working groups for the year - Basebuilding and Resource Mobilization/Partnerships, as well as adopting a new plan for how we partner with local organizations. We are busy goal-setting for the year in each working group and with our main 2023 partner org.
Ohio Chapter
RG Ohio had our first ever chapter retreat in February, and we had such a good time we forgot to take a picture. We reflected on our successes so far, talked about how we want to build and grow in the coming year, deepened our relationships with one another, and stretched! We're excited for what's to come as we enter our second year as an official chapter, including more opportunities to collaborate with other Midwest chapters, and new partners to support through redistribution and organizing.
FROM OUR PARTNERS
The Power to Win!: Black, Latiné, and Working Class Community Organizing to fight the Climate Crisis
In this moment of profound threat and possibility, we invite you to a special briefing on the strategy and scaled climate justice organizing of the CPD network.
With 48 affiliated people’s organizations across 200 cities and 33 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C., CPD is the largest network of community-based grassroots organizations in the country. Organizing at this scale, rooted in the very Black, Latiné, and working class communities that are the most disproportionately impacted by the climate crisis, and in the midst of a large-scale expansion of climate justice work, the CPD network holds a powerful key to addressing the crisis.
Join us and other philanthropic friends, on Friday, March 31st, at noon ET (11am CT / 10am MT / 9am PT) to learn more about this vital work.
Please RSVP using this form [[link removed]] . We’ll send you the Zoom meeting details once you’ve confirmed your attendance. If you have any questions, please contact Samantha Rivera at [email protected] [[email protected]] .

FROM CAMPAIGNS
I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our newest staff member, Emery Kiefer. We are so excited to have Emery join our team as our Local Power Organizer to support our chapters to strengthen grassroots issue-based campaigns via training, coaching, and resourcing our members. We have a lot planned this year (👀 sneak preview here [[link removed]] 👀) and are excited to follow up with more information about how to get involved in this work!
For now, check out Emery’s bio:
Raised in a working-class single-parent household, Emery (she/her) grew up in so-called Greensboro, North Carolina, a community rich in civil rights and movement history. She was called to action after learning about the increasingly urgent climate crisis and its connections to corporate lobbying, racial capitalism, and other systems of oppression that threatened all human rights.
After several years of grassroots organizing in her community on many climate justice campaigns, she began her career as a National Organizing Support Coach, supporting fellow youth activists across the country find their voice in collective liberation and provide training and resourcing on how to use it. In her former position at Future Coalition, she helped found and lead the Youth Climate Finance Alliance - a youth-led grassroots movement to stop the flow of money towards fossil fuels financiers. Through this campaign, she developed a deep interest and alignment with New Economy work and wealth redistribution.
Outside of organizing, you can find Emery hosting dinner parties, figure drawing, playing dreadfully at pickleball, and listening to punk music.
We encourage you to consider joining RG as a dues paying member [[link removed]] , and if you would like to get involved in your local chapter, please fill out this intake form [[link removed]] !
