Here’s the truth:

America is in an existential struggle for democracy.

Across the country, extremist Republicans are systematically attacking the very foundations of our free society.

They've silenced speech, fire teachers, kidnap migrants, subjugate women and attack the Special Olympics.

They've made it harder to vote and easier to buy assault weapons.

They've sold fear and panic when it comes to crime, but calm and indifference when the threat is greenhouse gasses destroying our planet.

They've fanned the flames of culture wars to distract from the fact that blue states have lower murder rates, better education and health care outcomes, and higher GDPs.

My PAC, the Campaign for Democracy, will tell the truth.

We are going to go on the road and on offense — in red states too — and take the fight to statehouses, local communities, and electoral battlegrounds to save our democracy. We’re going to help folks like President Biden at the top of the ticket and down the ballot.

You’ve seen me do it with TV ads in Florida going after Ron DeSantis’ assault on “Freedom.”

You’ve seen me do it in states like Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas — offering help to the women of those states who have been persecuted when seeking an abortion.

And you’ll see me do it a lot more in the near future.

People may ask, why are you doing this?

We’re doing this because democracy, patriotism, and the values we all care about are on the line.

We’re doing this because the future is not something to experience, it’s something to manifest.

So I am asking for your help. We all have a responsibility to do something in this moment, no matter our role in life.

During Bobby Kennedy’s eulogy of his brother, President John F. Kennedy, at the Democratic Convention — after a 20 minute standing ovation — he said JFK would have never been able to accomplish any of what he had without the support of all of you — the Democratic Party.

He said that when we’re in it together, we can accomplish a great deal.
