I have bad news: the U.S. House just passed H.R. 1, the “Polluters over People” dirty energy bill.

H.R. 1 is a shameless giveaway to polluters, consisting almost entirely of handouts and new loopholes for the oil, gas, and mining industries. The bill does not address or even reference clean energy, even though clean energy is cheaper than fossil fuels.

That's why I'm reaching out for your help, friend. 

We need EVERYONE in Congress to get the message — loud and clear — that the public will NOT support destructive energy proposals that lock us into decades of dirty fossil fuels. We will NOT support bills that perpetuate the climate crisis. We will NOT support bills that put Americans in harm’s way by gutting our bedrock environmental and public health laws – all in the name of fast-tracking polluter projects.

We need phones to be ringing off the hook in legislative offices. We need to be calling out the representatives who voted yes. We need to get the press involved. We need to ensure that our voices are heard loud and clear.

To pull this all off, we need you. The best thing you can do to help right now is chip in – $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can afford will make a difference! 

For the sake of our water, air, and climate, we cannot let this bill go further.
