Jack, Save the Redwoods League has been working on behalf of our redwood forests for more than 100 years. That's long enough to have seen efforts we’ve made in the past come to fruition. It’s long enough to know that when supporters like you step up, we can change the trajectory of imperiled redwood forest landscapes.
You may have seen our previous emails about the existential threat facing the giant sequoia — the threat is alarming and urgent. But it’s not too late to act. Thanks to you, there is hope for the future of the giant sequoia.
The League is the only non-profit organization with a focus on giant sequoias across the entire range of the species – all along the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
Thanks to the power of supporters like you, we’re uniquely positioned to advocate for, catalyze, support, and – when appropriate – lead action to protect the giant sequoia.
Here’s some of the ongoing work your gift will support:
We’re preparing to plant seedlings on a massive scale this spring, including more than 50,000 native conifer seedlings at the League-owned Alder Creek grove adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument. |
Â
We’re continually advancing opportunities to connect more people to our beloved giant sequoia forests by creating more access in places like Giant Sequoia National Monument, with Alder Creek as a gateway. |
Â
We led the formation of the Giant Sequoia Lands Coalition, a collaboration of public and non-governmental organizations with a shared commitment to save giant sequoia grove ecosystems. The Coalition exceeded its goals last year – and we look forward to ramping up our efforts with your help. |
Â
Let’s set these beautiful places up for more centuries of success. Let’s guarantee moments of awe for future generations.
With thanks,
Kate Berry |
