Our candidate, Lashrecse Aird, is running against an anti-choice INCUMBENT Democrat in an upcoming primary election in a state where reproductive freedom is constantly under attack. This one is a doozy, John xxxxxx. Virginia State Senator Joe Morrissey is a former Republican, has a history of abuse, and has been an outspoken anti-choice Democrat for the entirety of his career in political office. And there’s this:

In August of 2013, police found Morrissey, who was 56 years old, in his Henrico County home with a 17-year-old girl, now his wife, who was working as an employee at his law office. According to an article in the Daily Press from the time of his charges, “Morrissey is spending nights in jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

…He accepted the misdemeanor conviction to avoid trial on charges of taking ‘indecent liberties’ with a 17-year-old, child pornography, and soliciting a minor — felonies that could have put him in prison for decades and caused the automatic loss of his legislative position.”

As a public rift with his estranged wife plays out, Morrissey is running for re-election (because, yes, he is currently a sitting Democratic State Senator) for Virginia Senate District 13. He has no place in the Democratic Party and is unfit to serve in public office. Especially when there is an incredibly qualified woman running against him in the primary.
