Team, our first FEC fundraising deadline of the year is tomorrow, and we haven’t yet reached our fundraising goal. If you know you’re with us, I’d love it if you could pitch in $20, or any amount that works for you, before the deadline.

But if you need more context before you consider donating, I completely understand — which is why I’m reaching out with this email. (I know it’s a bit long, but I hope you’ll take a moment to read it!)

Listen, we all know there are too many elected officials who view winning elections as the end goal. But for me, the true end goal has always been to get things done for our community — for the regular Coloradans whose needs so often go overlooked in the halls of power.

When I was a State Senator and Coloradans were struggling with the high cost of health insurance, I helped pass a law that saved families thousands on their premiums.

When our students and teachers weren’t getting the resources they needed, I helped significantly increase public school funding to support our kids and teachers.

And when the Supreme Court was poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, I worked with my colleagues to pass legislation codifying abortion rights into Colorado law.

Now that I have the honor of serving in Congress, I’m working as hard as I possibly can to protect our rights and expand economic opportunity for families across our nation.

But I can’t continue to do this work if we don’t win this next election — and doing that means we will have to yet again face down a barrage of attacks from right-wing dark-money groups who are determined to attack me in the most personal terms possible.

So, Team, I have to ask: will you pitch in before tomorrow’s deadline and help me continue fighting for Coloradans for years to come?

Anything you can pitch in will help me defend basic civil rights like the right to choose, the right to vote, and the right to live freely as who you are without discrimination.

It will help me fight back when GOP groups spend big to attack me.

And it will help Democrats win the fight to retake our House Majority — so that we can continue delivering the kind of progress our nation deserves.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done, Team. I’m grateful for you, and I know that together, we can continue to win tough fights.

Sincerely,

Brittany Pettersen
Congresswoman, Colorado’s 7th District
