This email comes on the heels of yet another devastating mass shooting. Six people – including three children – were murdered at school in Nashville, TN. There has never been a greater need for legislators to take action to stop this epidemic of gun violence – please read this message from Julianne Moore about how you can help.

John,

Julianne Moore here. You might be surprised to be hearing from me, but I have an important message to share.

This is an email about mothers on a mission to end gun violence.

The day I became a “mother on a mission” like Lucy McBath was December 14, 2012 – the day of the Sandy Hook shooting. I remember my 10-year-old daughter at the time asking me: “ Mom, did a bunch of little kids get shot today? ” I realized that I had to get involved in the fight to keep my own kids safe from gun violence.

When I heard about Lucy McBath’s experience of losing her son Jordan to a senseless shooting, I was immediately struck by the gravity of her deep determination to share her story with all of us. She’s turned her pain into purpose – and led the fight to enact meaningful, life-saving gun safety policies. First, as an advocate – and now, as a member of Congress.

Lucy’s strong leadership on gun control has made her a top target of the NRA and national Republicans. As we approach her critical first end-of-quarter fundraising deadline at midnight on March 31st, will you rush a contribution to help Lucy and her campaign team prepare for the fight ahead? Why do I care about supporting a leader like Rep. Lucy McBath, and why should you continue to support her? Because our gun reform fight is quite literally about life and death: 44,340 Americans lost their lives to gun violence last year, and another 38,583 were injured. [1]

As an actor, I know how important the power of our stories can be to effect change. There is no doubt in my mind that Rep. Lucy McBath’s story about her son Jordan can win the hearts and minds needed to continue to achieve real gun reform in Congress. We just need to make sure Lucy has the resources to tell that story.

As a mother, this fight to prevent gun violence is about my two children — and all of our children. It’s about Lucy’s son, Jordan. It’s about the thousands of Americans who have lost their lives to gun violence. It’s about the families who have lost children, parents, and loved ones to this senseless epidemic.

I am in this fight for the long haul.

Lucy is in this for the long haul, and I hope you are too, John.

We need you to invest in winning this fight to curb the epidemic of gun violence in America, [[link removed]] John. Please support Rep. Lucy Mcbath ahead of her FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline by making a donation here → [[link removed]]
