Dear Colleague,
The U.S. and other rich countries use profoundly dirty tricks during UN negotiations, including keeping negotiations going for days without a break, running them into the small hours, even close to sunrise. The purpose is simply to wear down opposition from delegations that are smaller and being made to negotiate in English, since interpreters go home at 6 p.m. Another tactic is late minute surprises. This proved to be too much for a brave diplomat from the Holy See who stood and made a strong statement that was applauded by delegates from the developing world. God bless the Holy See delegation and all the others. All the worst stuff in the document was stopped. Stefano Gennarini, J.D. reports.
Another trick of these folks is then to lie about what really happened. Planned Parenthood sent out a statement last week that was a lie plain and simple. They said the final document contained the poisonous term "comprehensive sexuality education." In fact, CSE was blocked, removed, taken out, given the bum's rush. Delegates do not want CSE in UN documents. Rebecca Oas, Ph.D. reports on Planned Parenthood's lies.
Spread the word. Be daring. Keep the faith.
Yours sincerely,
Austin Ruse
President
