Dear friend,

I’m SO excited to share Right to the City and Homes for All's latest resource 📚 Language Justice: A Toolkit For Organizers! I’ve been working on this resource for over the last year — but it comes from a lifetime of building a language justice practice with a huge community of interpreters and translators.

Language, communication, and multilingual spaces are foundational to the work of organizing. To build the representative, resilient movements we need, and to create the transformative changes we want to see, we need to practice language justice every day.

I wrote this toolkit to help organizers within Right to the City Alliance and beyond to better understand and build language justice practices within our work. As you read, you’ll find key historical context, interactive tools, and practical answers to key questions:

- Why is language justice important even when we are speaking the “same” language?
- How can I assess my organization’s language justice practices?
- What are best practices for working with interpreters and translators?
- And much more!

I hope you’ll find this toolkit a useful resource to grow your own organization’s language justice practices. Please use it, share it, and reach out with any feedback!
