By Trump. By Fox News. By Republicans like Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz in Congress. He is pretty tough, and has weathered the storm well, but I’ll admit it — the viciousness of what he has endured concerns me.

That’s why Adam’s FEC deadline tomorrow — his first since launching this Senate campaign — is such a serious one.

He is taking on a new challenge, and one that has already drawn new attacks. From Trump at CPAC. From Tucker Carlson any night of the week on Fox News. From their legions of hyper-online MAGA supporters. And on it goes.

But if Adam is successful in overcoming these attacks and winning this Senate seat, it will also allow him to be an even more powerful defender of our democracy and its institutions. Because this isn’t about any of the people attacking him. This is about the vision Adam has for the future of our state and country, and the vision that I know you share. Where right and truth and decency matter. And the oath of office means something.

Where the economy works for everyone, and everyone has a chance to succeed. Where parents can put their children to bed knowing they will be safe, knowing that if they get ill, they can get the care that they need, and knowing that the planet can be as healthy as they are.

I believe that our country is filled with promise, and that our democracy is precious. And fragile. Adam has been on the frontlines, protecting it. He always will be. And you have always been by his side. I am so grateful for that.
