John,
Today, House Republicans passed a bill that will completely overhaul our climate progress.
Speaker McCarthy calls this bill a “counter to President Biden’s attack on domestic energy.” We call it reckless endangerment. Climate change is posing threats in real-time across the country and the world, and we CANNOT afford any setbacks to our progress to avoid catastrophe. Help SEEC Members fight back against Speaker McCarthy’s climate-denying agenda with a donation today. [[link removed]]
STOP H.R. 1 » [[link removed]]H.R. 1 is designed to repeal key pieces of the Inflation Reduction Act that made it the largest climate change-fighting law in U.S. history. They want to slash the methane emissions fee, the national “green bank,” and the funds to help low and moderate-income households improve their home energy efficiency. This bill will also leave public lands totally exposed to more and more drilling.
They’re trying to sell this disaster bill as a way to promote jobs and lower energy costs. But make no mistake, John, it will do the EXACT OPPOSITE.
As SEEC Member Rep. Grijalva put it, this bill shows Speaker McCarthy’s agenda for what it is — political stunts and performative pro-polluter proposals.
Our SEEC Members have and will continue to vote against bills like this that promise to undo the climate gains we’ve worked so hard to make. Support their fight to stop Speaker McCarthy’s anti-climate agenda by rushing a donation today >> [[link removed]]
