Tomorrow is TDOV!

John,

We’wha. Sylvia Rivera. Marsha P. Johnson. Miss Major Griffin-Gracy. Lucy Hicks Anderson. Reed Erickson. Louise Lawrence. Albert Cashier. Lili Elbe. There has even been speculation that the third century Roman emperor, Elagabalus, may have been transgender. We’ve been here for thousands of years.

Today, we are in the company of so many incredible trans and nonbinary activists. Yet, we’re also pushing back against anti-trans legislators relentlessly attempting to eliminate trans rights and deny our existence.

Right now, being visible as a trans person is truly a radical act.

Honor a Trans Activist Today.

This year, the National Center for Trans Equality celebrates our 20th anniversary. Since 2003, we’ve been working toward trans liberation, toward a world where our rights and existence are protected, and where trans people are regarded as a gift

But NCTE and NCTE Action Fund are still young - especially when we think of the trans activists that came hundreds of years before us. We’ve come a long way since 2003, but there are still miles to go, and we need you with us.

Invest in trans leadership all year long by becoming a monthly donor to the Action Fund

To build a world where all trans people can be both visible and safe requires resources. This Trans Day of Visibility, please – celebrate the progress we have made as a community, and also take action

In solidarity,
