There’s been a lot of uncertainty after news last weekend of a chemical spill of latex into the Delaware River near Bristol, Pennsylvania. After days of testing and observation, New Jersey American Water has confirmed that New Jersey’s drinking water in the region of the spill is safe. Congressman Kim and our team remain in contact with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and New Jersey American Water as they conduct tests of water samples.
The President of New Jersey American Water joined Congressman Kim’s telephone town hall on Monday night to explain how they test the water’s safety and why they issued a precautionary conservation notice to help expedite this process. You can listen to their full conversation here.
This precautionary conservation notice for Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties has now been lifted.
