Dear Friend,

If you want to help NCLEJ advance racial and economic justice across America, then I urge you to consider donating to help us meet our End-of-March grassroots fundraising goal of $5,500. Below, I’ll talk more about the critical work of our organization, but if you don’t have the time for my full message, you can click here to chip in right away. ([link removed])

NCLEJ was founded in 1965 at Columbia University by Edward V. Sparer, an attorney known as the “father of welfare law.” For our nearly six decades of history, we’ve followed in the footsteps of the civil rights movement by advancing social, racial, economic, and disability justice through groundbreaking litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing efforts.

Most of our staff is composed of lawyers whose critical casework can have enormous ramifications for hundreds of thousands of people. Our staff understands the complex, historic, and present-day economic injustices that communities face, and we’re working every day to dismantle institutional barriers so that the most vulnerable and marginalized among us may thrive.

This work simply cannot be done without your help. The change we seek requires years of consistent effort against entrenched systems, which is why I am asking you to consider NCLEJ in your charitable contributions today.

By chipping in through either a one-time or a recurring donation, you can help us fight in the courts and on the ground to:
* Expand access to critical benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, and unemployment insurance
* Protect the rights, benefits, and safety of low-wage workers
* Advance the rights of people with disabilities
* Reform unjust law enforcement practices that harm communities of color
* End unlawful debt collection
* And so much more!

We want a future in which our country meets the fundamental needs of all its residents. By chipping in to help fuel our work, you can help us build a more fair and equitable country for all.

As a reminder, all contributions to our nonprofit organization are tax-deductible.

Thank you,

Dennis Parker
