climate super-pollutants, from its stores’ refrigerators, and Walmart pledged to phase them out by 2040. Now, we are putting pressure on Kroger. We successfully encouraged T-Mobile to commit to 100% renewable energy, and AT&T and Verizon have made historic clean energy purchases, equivalent to shutting down several coal-fired powerplants. In 2023, we’ll drive even larger corporate purchase of wind and solar, and push for communities most harmed by dirty energy to benefit the most. #2 We’re Taking on the Largest Corporations to Achieve the Biggest Impacts. Our campaign pushed Amazon to commit to 100% renewable energy by 2025.
Now we are urging Amazon to rapidly lower its climate emissions, support environmental justice, and protect its workers, including being exposed to toxic chemicals while making Amazon clothing. #3 We are Working to Make ALL Agriculture into a Climate Solution. Our Regenerative Ag work is breathtaking—not only are farmers putting carbon from the atmosphere back into the soil, improving biodiversity, protecting pollinators, and producing more nutritious food — they are more profitable! The farmers in our Soil Carbon Initiative represent over 3 million acres! In 2023, we’ll work to shift millions of acres to regenerative. At the community level, we’ve registered over 20,000 Climate Victory Gardens — the equivalent of not driving nearly 40 million miles. In 2023, we’ll work to add thousands more gardens!
