JOhn, the 2022 election went a lot better for Democrats than most pundits expected. But we still lost the House by 5 seats, and Republicans won critical State Supreme Court races in Ohio and North Carolina.

Now, Republicans are likely to pass mid-decade gerrymanders in both states — and their new court majorities could uphold these lines. This could put House Democrats in a further hole going into 2024 of as many as 6 additional seats.

All of this raises the stakes for a battleground district like ours. We can't afford to let Republicans gain further ground.
