Dear John,

As the first national women's fund, Women’s History Month holds a special significance for us at the Ms. Foundation for Women. When our founding mothers created the organization in 1973, they introduced the then-revolutionary idea that women themselves could provide leadership, support and solutions to the most pressing issues our country faced. Now, 50 years later, our history and the victories of women’s movements influence all the work we do.

We invite you to join us in celebrating our 50th anniversary however you can. This month, we’re kicking off a blog series highlighting stories of leaders who have worked with the Ms. Foundation during different periods in our history. Our team is currently traveling the country and meeting with grassroots leadership.

We’re writing women’s history every day, and we’re so proud to be in this fight alongside our incredible partners, and alongside you.

In solidarity,

Ruth McFarlane
Chief Advancement Officer

Ms. Foundation in the News

“We believe that equity and inclusion are the cornerstones of a true democracy in which the worth and dignity of every person is valued. And I can say it because it is in my heart and in my core, that feminism and democracy do not get to be separated out. And we have to call in all people to do the work we want to do for a safe and just world for us all.”

Inside Philanthropy profiled President & CEO Teresa C. Younger about her work, her transition to philanthropy, and her hopes for the future of funding for women and girls. Read the full interview here!

We're also excited to share the first blog in our 50th anniversary series, which will tell the stories of leaders who have worked with the Ms. Foundation throughout our history. Williams, and former Ms. Foundation leader Sara K. Gould, abolitionist activist Andrea Ritchie, and Ms. Foundation President and CEO Teresa C. Younger.

Donate in honor of Women’s History Month

This Women’s History Month, we ask you to make a commitment to do something powerful and donate to the Ms. Foundation to help create more change. When you donate this month, your gift will be doubled by a generous Ms. Foundation supporter.

Together we can achieve full reproductive justice. We can fight for wage equity and for affordable and accessible care at every stage of life. We can all advocate for women and girls of color and support transgender women and gender nonbinary people and be a part of passing laws and policies that protect women and girls.
