With all the great candidates running for office around the country, I know you’re getting a lot of messages asking for your hard-earned dollar right about now. There’s no secret to it. Even the Republicans started their own small-dollar fundraising platform this year because they see it working over and over. They’re just now starting to realize what we’ve known all along: Your investment in great candidates and campaigns matters. If we keep doing what we’re doing, I know that in fifteen months, Doug Jones will be re-elected in Alabama.
That’s right. If we keep our momentum going, if we’re able to share Doug’s positive message, and if Doug keeps working hard to represent all of the people of Alabama, he will be re-elected. Will you help us make sure we can reach every voter?
Over the past few months, we’ve watched Doug’s opponents show us who they are. And every single one of them has proven they are out of touch with Alabamians. Many of his opponents defended and even repeated racist language. Some have worked to make it harder to vote. And they have all used extremism to try and divide and conquer the people of Alabama.
That isn’t going to cut it in Alabama. In all my meetings everywhere I go in Alabama, no voter has told me that they want more division and obstruction from Washington. Instead, they talk about their hopes for the future and for their children. They want us united and they want us working together to actually get things done.
We’re going to have some tough opposition. But together, we can make history again and defeat Mitch McConnell and his hand-picked extremist candidate. We just have to. The stakes are too high.
