** The One-Minute Meeting
------------------------------------------------------------

A drug that has saved the lives of thousands of people who overdosed on opioids will soon be available over the counter, which the FDA says will save even more lives. How much the over-the-counter version of Narcan will cost is unclear, but it will have a big effect on its usefulness. A two-pack kit now commonly sells for between $47 and $73, which may be out of reach for a lot of people who need it most.

Beginning this weekend, millions of Americans who have gotten health coverage through Medicaid under COVID-19 emergency orders will begin to fall off the state rolls. Of the more than 8 million people who will lose Medicaid, almost half are still eligible but might not know it. Many more will become eligible for no-cost care under the Affordable Care Act. States plan to “unwind” their enrollments between Saturday and July. Medicaid recipients could not be removed from enrollment during the pandemic.

Everyone who plans to travel internationally this summer should get that passport application in the mail now. The wait for new passports is three months and growing. You can speed up the task by using expedited processing, but it will cost a good bit more.

It is finally major league baseball season again as 30 teams take the field today. The average day at the park for four people is estimated to be $256, including tickets, parking, four sodas and four hot dogs. But the value of watching the Rays’ Wander Franco pound the Detroit Tigers is invaluable.
