All parents dream about their child's important milestones in life. Their first birthday. The first day of school. The first time they ride a bike without training wheels.
Here at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, we help ensure our patients and their families reach important milestones more than 660,000 times a year. Today John, you can Make March Matter and help create twice as many milestones, thanks to a special match from our friends at Terranea Resort.
Make March Matter is our annual fundraising effort that brings the community together to raise funds and awareness for children's health. It's a wonderful way to support local businesses while helping kids get healthier and stronger.
In these final 72 hours of our Make March Matter campaign, every donation of $10 or more to the Children's Fund will be matched dollar for dollar—up to $10,000. Give now to make TWICE the impact for sick kids.
When you give today, you're helping provide 2X the child-focused, compassionate care, 2X the groundbreaking medical research and 2X the lifesaving medical treatments for a child in need—like Genesis.
Genesis seemed perfectly healthy until a routine checkup at 6 months, where her pediatrician diagnosed a heart murmur and referred the family to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Further tests soon revealed that Genesis' heart was failing. She was diagnosed with a disease called cardiomyopathy, which causes the heart to enlarge and lose its ability to pump blood out to the body. She would need a heart transplant to survive. Genesis was admitted to the hospital's Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit that day.
The journey from diagnosis to lifesaving heart transplant was filled with highs and lows, but thanks to a team of experts at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Genesis, now 2, is thriving.
In August, Genesis passed a critical milestone: It's been one year since she got a new heart. And today, John, your gift goes TWICE as far to help other kids reach important milestones too.
As a nonprofit hospital, we rely on members of the community like you to help us provide the very best care for children in our community, to cure disease and to save and change lives.
Donate to the Children's Fund by midnight, Mar. 31, and your gift of $10 or more will go 2X as far to care for sick and injured kids.
We are so grateful for all that you do to make a difference for our patients and families at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Sincerely,
