The upcoming election is the most consequential in our lifetime — and this week marks an anniversary reminding us why: 
 
It was three years ago yesterday that President Trump signed his Muslim travel ban — banning people from coming to our nation if they are from certain Muslim-majority countries. 
 
 
As the son of hardworking immigrants who came here from Mexico, I know that an attack on one immigrant is an attack on all of us.
 
My family certainly isn’t alone — more than one in four Californians are immigrants. In the Golden State, we embrace our diversity because we know it makes us stronger.
