Working Families Party

April is nearly here, John — which means Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court election and Chicago’s mayoral runoff are just around the corner.

In a minute, we’ll highlight exactly what we’re up against in both of these races, but first: can you pitch in $10 or more toward our end-of-quarter goal of 14,000 grassroots contributions?

No matter the amount, every single contribution makes a difference as we head into a new quarter of organizing towards transformative change and a government that has working people’s backs.

In Wisconsin, we’re going all out to elect a pro-choice, pro-democracy judge to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

On April 4, just six days away, WFP-endorsed Janet Protasiewicz will face off against Daniel Kelly, an anti-abortion election denier who, if not out-organized and defeated, could bring disastrous consequences for Wisconsinites on issues of abortion access, gerrymandering, voting rights, and even the certification of the presidential election in 2024.

And in Chicago, on that same day, WFP-endorsed mayoral candidate Brandon Johnson — a former public school teacher and union organizer — will go toe-to-toe with Paul Vallas, a Republican in disguise with a history of undermining public schools in New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Connecticut.

It’s a race between two starkly different futures for Chicagoans. While Brandon’s vision includes access to affordable housing, healthcare for all, and fully-funded public schools, his opponent’s threatens budget cuts and major privatization efforts enforced by militarized police.

It's not an understatement to say that these are arguably two of the most important races of 2023. But, with everything happening right now — trains derailing, banks collapsing, and compounding crises unfolding all around us — many people are unaware that these elections are even happening, or what’s at stake.

It’s why we’ve been working through the month to educate voters on the stakes of these and other elections. And we can't afford to slow down at such a critical time.

That’s why we’re asking: Will you pitch in $10 to help us reach our goal of 14,000 contributions for this quarter and fuel our movement ahead of one of the most important Election Days of this year?
