I wanted to send you a note personally to discuss the stakes of this month’s FEC fundraising deadline.

After the deadline passes, our fundraising totals will be public. National Republican and outside spending groups have named me a top target, they’re already spending tens of thousands attacking me, and VA-07 has been named a ‘frontline’ district.

So, let me be clear: those who daydream of beating me will pay extremely close attention to our first-quarter fundraising. While I know they won’t beat me, I want to make a clear showing of strength early.

We must demonstrate the true scale of support this campaign has behind it.
