Abortion bans. Rollbacks of LGBTQ+ rights. Cuts for public education and healthcare.

John, all of this could be a reality in the Commonwealth — if not for the brick wall that Virginia Senate Democrats have put up against the extreme agenda that Republicans have proposed.

Democrats have the majority by only a two-seat margin. Republicans are going to target as many competitive races as they can — and they'll be looking closely at public finance reports after March 31 to see which Democratic-held seats could be vulnerable.

Hala's running for an open seat that we have to win in order to hold our majority. But if she puts up an underwhelming number in her quarterly report, Republicans will be emboldened to make a big push for District 33.
