Katie Porter here -- you may know me as the minivan driving single-mom who uses a whiteboard to hold corrupt CEOs and incompetent government officials accountable.

But here’s what you might not know: In January, I announced that I’m running for the United States Senate. (The PCCC was the first national group to endorse my Senate campaign, and it's made a big difference.) I’m running because Americans deserve a warrior to fight the battles of tomorrow, stand up to special interests, and "do Congress" in a way that connects with Americans -- many of whom are disillusioned about whether our government can work for them.

Now we’re 2 days out from our end of quarter fundraising deadline. And look, CEOs and my teenagers can agree: I’m not one for BS answers. So here are two quick reasons why I’m asking for your $3 right now.

• This end of quarter deadline will be the first time our Senate campaign is required to publicly report how much money we have raised since launching. A strong number signals that I’m a serious competitor in this race and can prevent super PACs from attacking me (let’s show them it’s not worth it!).
• I’m the only Democrat in this race who has never taken a dime from corporate PACs, and I reject all contributions from federal lobbyists and Big Bank, Big Oil, and Big Pharma CEOs. Our average donation is less than $30, I truly count on supporters like you.
