[1]kids being evacuated after Nashville shooting
3 children and 3 adults were murdered in Nashville this week. We
absolutely cannot let this go on.
Last year, the House passed a bill banning assault weapons, and members of
the Senate recently introduced a similar bill.
When a ban on assault weapons was passed in the 90s, gun killings
plummeted. We can do it again -- add your name and share widely:

John,
3 children and 3 adults were killed in a Nashville school shooting on
Monday. According to authorities, the killer was armed with two
assault-style weapons, designed to kill efficiently without having to
reload frequently.
The number of mass shootings has almost doubled compared to this time last
year. But we can change that.
Last year, the House passed a bill banning assault weapons on the federal
level, and members of the Senate recently introduced a similar bill. It's
time for all of us to come together and demand a nation-wide ban on
assault weapons before more children are massacred.
A similar federal ban was passed in the 1990s -- we can do it again. Sign
now and share as much as you can.

When a federal ban on assault weapons was implemented in the 1990s, the
number of gun massacre deaths decreased by 37%, and then sharply increased
by 183% after the ban expired.
It's true that an assault weapons ban won't solve the gun violence
epidemic entirely on its own -- addressing the mental health crisis is
also a serious concern. But the data speaks for itself: a ban would
significantly help keep our children safe and alive, and that should be
congress's top priority.
We are reaching a tipping point with this crisis. If we all pile on now,
we can put enough pressure on congress to finally act. Sign now, and share
this widely.
