John, we love the wide expanses of rural America, but these distances create issues too.
There are many people who have limited or no access at all to internet. Digital organizing isn't an effective tool to reach voters in these places, but digital organizing is critical for our organizers themselves, so that they can meet these voters face-to-face as neighbors, with the tools to genuinely convey the issues in their own communities and suggest the solutions to fix them.
The fact is, there is nothing more persuasive than sitting down in person and hearing from people in your own neighborhood. An effective ground game is more essential in rural America than anywhere else, and it's the thing Democrats have lacked, until now!
ROCC is organizing infrastructure engineered by lifelong rural Democrats to bring activists and organizers together to share effective techniques, and to adapt and apply these in our own communitites through face-to-face voter engagement.
