Dear John,
We grieve and pray for the families impacted by the horrific mass murder at Nashville’s Christian Covenant School.
As Americans, we are dealing with many foundational cultural fissures today.
In a poll published this week, compared to Americans’ values in 1998:
Those who say religion is “very important” to them is down 37%
The percentage who said raising children was “very important” is down 49%
Americans who say patriotism is “very important” to them is down 46% while
The percentage who said that money was “very important” to them rose by 39%
But as a people of faith, we can choose to turn back to Him who is mighty to save, and be encouraged that there are lights in the darkness. Governors and state legislatures are memorializing lives ended by abortion, allocating budgets to crisis pregnancy centers, and criminalizing the sale and prescription of abortion pills.
And PJI is still - and will continue to be - on the front lines on issues of religious freedom, parental rights, and the sanctity of life, providing representation, defense, and victory for Americans, all at no charge to them.
2 Chronicles 7:14 states, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Together, let’s commit to praying for America.
