When Democrats ran the Oversight Committee in the last Congress, we used our powers to bring critical government transparency and deliver results for the people.
Our work helped provide economic relief for thousands struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic, pass the first gun violence prevention measure in decades, improve USPS and other government services, and so much more.
But, John, now that the GOP controls the House, they’re abusing the Oversight Committee’s power and wasting taxpayer dollars on a witch hunt.
They’ve wasted our time probing into Hunter Biden and the President’s family, attacking teleworking federal employees, and complaining to social media groups because they want more exposure online.
The GOP has used the Oversight Committee as just another tool to bolster the Big Lie while we could be dealing with real issues like working with the people of East Palestine to get to the bottom of Norfolk Southern’s dangerous train derailment.
As we wrap up the first quarter of the new Congress, it’s clear the GOP’s priorities just aren’t right. They’d rather waste precious taxpayer dollars setting up a narrative to win the 2024 elections than getting to work for the people. That’s why I need your help, John.
