This Texas bill could prevent people from even discussing medication abortion.
John—
Earlier this month, the governor of Wyoming signed into law the country's first explicit ban on medication abortion—with criminal penalties for providers. And Republicans in the Texas House of Representatives are considering a bill that would force internet companies to block access to websites with information about medication abortion.
The Texas bill* actually goes even further: It could let Texans sue anyone who provides "information" about medication abortion to someone else.
This all comes at the same time as a federal judge is poised to revoke the FDA's approval of mifepristone, one of two medications typically used in medication abortion—the most common form of abortion in the country.
John, our reproductive freedom is under attack from every angle. Meanwhile, our critical end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is this Friday and we're well behind our goal for Q1. We need your help.
We knew that anti-choice extremists were never going to stop with dismantling Roe v. Wade. They want to eliminate all access to abortion and to strip us of our freedom to decide what happens to our own bodies.
And this fight isn't just about abortion either. It's about ensuring access to contraception. It's about protecting access to in vitro fertilization (IVF), so that everybody can decide when and how to start or grow a family.
This fight is fundamentally about freedom, John. And that's why I'm asking you and NARAL's four million members to come together right now—ahead of this critical deadline—to support our work.
