Team,

Donald Trump will be here in New Jersey tonight to campaign for Jeff Van Drew, a congressman who recently, switched parties to support Trump because he thought it would give him a better chance of winning re-election.

I can't stand to think of the hateful, untruthful, and incendiary things that this president might say while he's here campaigning in the state I have the honor of representing in the Senate.

But regardless of what happens tonight, let's see if we can send a powerful message to Donald Trump that we're ready to take back our country this November.

We need to do everything we can to flip this district in November. That's why I'm asking you to split a contribution between my campaign and the fund that will support Jeff Van Drew's Democratic challenger. If you can chip in, please do so today.

We need principled leaders in the House of Representatives who'll put their sense of duty to our country over their own political prospects.

We must work as hard as we can to take back the White House and flip the critical congressional seat that Jeff Van Drew currently holds -- a district that elected a Democrat, only to see him turn his back on his constituents when the going got tough.

At this key moment, I'm counting on your support as we approach a big $350,000 end-of-month fundraising goal. I'm also hoping you'll stand with me in supporting a down-ballot Democrat who will help ensure we keep our party's majority in the House.

Please send in a donation right now to support my campaign and the Democrat who'll defeat Jeff Van Drew this November.

Together, we will rise and chart a better path forward for our country.
