John, check out what we have planned for elections this year.
Everytown for Gun Safety

Dear John,

We just publicly announced this — and you should be one of the first to know!

We are poised to execute our largest and most ambitious electoral effort ever. In total, Everytown will invest at least $60 million – double what we spent during the 2018 elections, and more than the NRA reported spending in 2016 – to win big in 2020. With your help we will elect a Gun Sense President, flip several U.S. Senate seats, defend the Gun Sense Majority in the U.S. House, and elect gun sense champions up and down the ballot.

Make history with us. Make a generous contribution to the Everytown Victory Fund to support Everytown's $60 million election efforts.

Given the growing power of gun safety as an electoral issue, we believe these unprecedented financial and grassroots investments will be the deciding factor in elections across the country.

Money matters in this contentious election year. Four years ago, the NRA spent $30 million to elect Donald Trump, and $55 million total on federal elections.

This year we're going to beat the gun lobby at their own game. With your help, we'll surpass the NRA's 2016 election spending!

The good news is the American people are with us. A new Gallup poll finds that gun policy is among the top issues on voters' minds right now. With your generous support, our core 2020 electoral strategy will focus on growing our advantage in the suburbs, where gun safety has become a litmus test issue. Everytown will also invest significantly in growing the electorate by mobilizing young voters and communities of color. This will be done, in part, by investing significant resources into voter registration.

In the coming weeks, we will have much more to share. Already, we've identified gun lobby allies we will work to defeat, like Cory Gardner and Martha McSally in the U.S. Senate. And Everytown for Gun Safety will expand the Gun Sense Candidate Distinction program to make sure every voter knows who is on the side of gun safety, up and down the ballot.

In 2018, we outspent the gun lobby to elect a Gun Sense Majority in the House of Representatives and hundreds of new allies to show for it. Last year, we poured all of our efforts into the Virginia elections and elected a Gun Sense Majority to the General Assembly in Richmond. And with your help in 2020, we'll ensure gun safety is a winning issue across the country.

Let's do this. Contribute to make sure gun safety is a winning issue in 2020.

Thanks for all you do,

Matt McTighe
