We all watched in horror as a woman armed with two assault rifles and a handgun entered a Nashville school, yesterday. In just a few short minutes, at least three students and three teachers were killed.
They died in their school. Parents and family members dropped their children off and teachers hung up the phone with their loved ones and never returned home.
We do not have to live this way, John. Children of preschool age to sixth grade feared for their lives yesterday. Countless kids and survivors are now facing the trauma associated with experiencing a mass shooting.
This is an American problem. It is the guns. And our elected officials can do something to stop it.
We believe we can put ourselves out of a job and live in a nation free from gun violence in our nation—but in order to achieve this dream, Congress must act. Join us in adding your name to our petition urging our representatives to lead our nation into a future where our kids do not fear for their lives under desks and our teachers can breathe easy in their place of work: [link removed].
We are no longer saying thoughts and prayers. We are saying policy and change.
