We cannot let this egregious violation of the law stand, so we’re acting quickly.
But I want to let Shawn know that he’s not standing alone.

You may remember that last year we won a critical lawsuit on behalf of Shawn McBreairty – a loving father who was treated like a criminal for simply asking for more transparency about what his daughter was learning at her public school in Maine.
He didn’t like the woke curriculum, and did what any good parent would do…
…he stepped up and fought for his daughter’s education.
But when he showed up to school board meetings to ask questions, the school board banned him from meetings and even stepping foot on school property.
So, the Center for American Liberty intervened—because this was a clear violation of Shawn’s First Amendment rights—and we won.
But in both January and February of this year, the school board kicked Shawn out of school board meetings, blatantly ignoring the court’s ruling.
RSU22 has a viewpoint discriminatory policy that prohibits any criticism of government employees.
Parents, like Shawn, are allowed to go to the podium to publicly praise government employees at school board meetings, but the minute they speak ill of a teacher, administrators, or other government employee, they are censored.
So, when Shawn spoke up, the school board cut the video feed, stopped the meeting, and called the police to remove him.
This is blatant viewpoint discrimination.
We won’t stand for this, John, and we know you won’t either.
