Doctors and frontline health workers are critical to saving lives when disaster strikes – and in times of crisis, even as health facilities are leveled or overfilled with those seeking urgent care, they are often the only ones able to provide it.

That's why, in honor of National Doctors' Day, we want to send our sincere thanks to health workers providing this lifesaving aid around the world, in Ukraine, Türkiye (Turkey), Syria and beyond. We're looking for 5,000 signatures on our card, and it looks like you haven't added yours yet:

When Russia invaded Ukraine over one year ago, millions fled, unsure if they would ever be able to return home. Doctors and health workers offered the urgent health services survivors required – and as this conflict rages on, doctors continue to provide ongoing care and mental health support amidst the uncertainty.

In the immediate aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that hit Türkiye and Syria last month, doctors offered medical care for broken bones, lacerations and other wounds. They are also providing primary care and psychosocial support to help their patients cope with trauma in the long term.

Doctors and health workers are often coping with trauma themselves during these difficult times, but that doesn't stop them: As they continue to save lives, they deserve to know we have their backs.
