John,
On November 8, 2022, the people of PA-12 sent a working-class activist to Congress to become PA's first Black Congresswoman.
Summer is in Congress to represent the PEOPLE — not profits. So ahead of our first FEC fundraising deadline of 2023, we want to update you on what Summer has been up to:
→ Summer co-sponsored critical legislation including the PRO Act, Justice for All Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, DERAIL Act, Abortion is Health Care Everywhere Act, Assault Weapons Ban Act, and more.
→ Summer and Senator Bob Casey announced a $1.4 million investment to reunite Manchester and Chateau and begin the long road to correcting the racial redlining that severed these communities years ago.
→ Summer and Representative Cori Bush organized a meeting between Democrats and Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta to discuss the need for police reform.
→ Summer is taking on white supremacist supervillains and corporate greed as a member of the House Oversight and Accountability committee.
→ Summer is keeping her focus on the people of Western Pennsylvania — from supporting striking Pittsburgh Post-Gazette workers and discussing infrastructure with the folks at Allegheny County Airport to drawing attention to the needs of everyday people in the press.
Summer is delivering for us — and as a thank you for our support, she's going to call a few grassroots donors who chip in between now and March 31. John, will you chip in now to help hit our critical $100,000 end-of-quarter fundraising goal and get your name on Summer's call list?
One of the first decisions Summer made when running for office was to reject all corporate PAC money. It's a decision that would be very difficult for most members of Congress to make — but not Summer.
Summer is in Congress to represent people like you and me — people with student debt, who grew up relying on SNAP, who believe that children deserve to be safe in their classrooms, and who know the burden health care costs can be.
While Summer's colleagues are calling up fossil fuel and pharma executives to pad the numbers on their FEC reports, we're writing to you.
Thank you,
Emilia
